2020 Sammamish Cub Scouts Knapping Workshop Report Members of the Puget Sound Knappers hosted a troop of Cub Scouts from Seattle last night for an evening of flintknapping and arrow-making!  Fourteen Scouts attended and eight PSK members provided 1:2 or even 1:1 individualized instruction!  At the end of the 2.5 hour free workshop each scout went home with a COMPLETED Stone-tipped arrow.   Each arrowhead was made and donated by a PSK member and each Arrow would be turned into their final award - The ARROW OF LIGHT! It was a TERRIFIC evening - so rewarding to see these youngsters, and their Dads (and one Mom) enjoying working with their hands and re-creating a little bit of history! And many, many thanks to Barry, Max, Mick, Ken, Phil, Jim, and Woody for joining me in supporting this effort. You couldn't ask for a better, more generous bunch of Flintknappers! And a special thanks to my wife, Holly and Vicki for the EXCELLENT meal they prepared - Tacos, Burritos, Fajitas, chips and salsa, etc. We couldn't have done it without their support!!!! |
